In April 2007 Rancho Soledad sponsored an expedition to the island of Madagascar. On the expedition were Gary Le Vine, Manager of Research and Development, Kelly Griffin, Curator of Xerophytes, and Andrew Hankey, Director at Walter Sisilu Botanical Garden in Johannesburg South Africa.
